I just checked the photos that you mentioned (or at least, I believe they are the right photos, a link on this board might help), and the Unknown Corpl is from the VRC, I'd be willing to bet money on it. The officer is a bit problematic as officers in the VRC wore regulation uniforms almost from the start. I forgot to mention, for rosters of the almost any regiment that doesnt have a published regimental history, you will must likley have to go to the National Archives, but let me see if I can get you a short cut. If I give the citation for the source of the photo of the corpl, may I copy it for my files? I am not planning on publishing anything on the VRC AT THE MOMENT, but like I said, it has been a subject of interest to me for over twenty years.
