After doing alot of research on the 26th it is realized that the illustration in the Blandford book is entirely fantasy! Even in DeBray's own memoirs it is not mentioned, nor the lances, nor the enfield rifles...all the basis of the Blandford book. After looking through original documents it was learned that the regiment was supplied with uniforms from the Houston Depot. Basically this looks like something from a 1960's hollywood movie. It was short jacket and trousers and cap trimmed with yellow on the collar, cuffs, hatband, and trouser leg (even for privates). They carried sabers and most of the men were equipped with Hall's Carbines (from the original ordnance and quartermaster documents) Hope this helps. Chris
