The Arms & Equipment in the Civil War Message Board

Re: "Long Range Globe Sited guns"

That will have to be the next book for me. The 7th Miss. is my focus for now. I have gathered a great deal on the rest of the units in the "High Pressure Brigade" so there is a chance for a next book on the brigade. The Sharpshooters remained with the brigade until surrender ar Smithfield, NC. But like the remainder of the regiments, the three companies that made up the battalion were so depleted that it is hard to now how many surrendered since the entire brigade only numbered 270+. The 7th Miss. had pretty much been reduced to a company (74 men) at surrender as Co. A 9th Miss. Consolidated. In fact that company included men from other units as well. Interestingly the commander of the consolidated unit was the previous commander of the Sharpshooters.
