No, I think you were heads up on the subject & that is what makes this hobby so great. Sometimes we ( many weapons collectors) have tunnel vision when questioned about weapons during this time period. When you throw in imported weapons, the description of weapons is sometimes outside the norm of what was produced in this country. For what it's worth, I always liked the design of the Lorenz rifle.
Unfortunately, the weapon described by Dr. Massey will never really be known to him although I feel reasonably sure it was a cut down Kentucky/Pennsylvania rifle.
