Thanks for that - somehow I got confused that the 7th US Cav only had 5 companies at LBH- but it was just 5 with Custer and the rest as you detailed.
I have not heard of those Indian wars in Ohio books. I have "President Washington's Indian Wars" by Wiley Sword and "Bayonets In The Wilderness" by Alan Gaff and some things done in Ohio, along with a few others. I observed a dig at the site of the fort in St. Mary's, Ohio and used to take people over to Ft. Recovery and show them the battlefield there. The local historical society did a map of the town overlaid with the battlefield so you can see where everything was in detail. The Wabash River has changed its course a bit there.
The eastern Indian wars get overshadowed by those in the west.
