1899 painting by Paxson of Custer’s Last Stand. Joe, not a photo, a painting. A pure artistic interpretation of the battle, not based on fact, first hand knowledge, not evident. If this is your evidence, you are mistaken. Mr. Paxton, said, that he interviewed 96 officers and soldiers, nowhere in his notes, is the color of the flags. Two Moon and Paxson walked the battle grounds, but he also states, that he had acquired photographs of the battle, both the Indian and white, had personal and relevant artifacts of the Indian Wars. Thank The Great Spirits for providing those Kodak moments of the battle so Paxson could paint his painting.
