Traditionally, speaking you are correct Tom. But my research has led me to a radically different interpretation for Trimble's demi-division. When Lane's brigade split in the middle of the 37th North Carolina, both wings of Trimble's line skirted the remnants of Davis' brigade. Lane's leftmost three and a half regiments crossed the Emmitsburg Road to the north of the Brian lane - not to the south. Those with Trimble moved farther south toward the inner Angle.
