These are the units listed in the order book which is dated April, 18, 1862. Thirty of these flags were run through the Richmond Depot as a special requisition. However, Tompkins made 40 flags and the above list numbers only 24. Magruder's army also consisted of these additional units:

53rd Georgia (their flag was of this pattern but not made by Tompkins. It also bears the unit designation - none of the other flags of this pattern are so marked)

68th Virginia Militia

Please note that some units under Magruder had been with the Army of the Potomac when their silk issue ANV flags were presented in late November, 1861. This includes Featherston's Brigade (27th GA, 28th GA, 4th NC, 49th VA). Others with the same situation would be the units of Toombs' Brigade and DR Jones' Brigade.

So we have 31 units for these flags with 9 missing (leaving out the 53rd Georgia for the aforementioned reason). Since some of the ANV silk flags were already on the Peninsula, and I have mentioned the order to the Army of the Peninsula troops stating that these
reinforcing units were carrying pink flags.

Any help with the missing units is appreciated.
