That article was going to run with a picture of the 5th Georgia's flag from the Augusta Depot that I got permission to use from its owner but my response ate up the space. Maybe it will be in the next issue.

I am pretty sick and tired of the CS flags myths when there has been ample evidence just by going to various museums to start, but also the amazing work of Howie Madaus, Devereaux Cannon, Ken Legendre and all of the others that have done serious work in archives, libraries, museums and much more trying to get to the truth about these flags.

After I conclude my CS flags program to groups, I then ask them, "which one is the Confederate battle flags? The accurate answer is ALL of them!"

Stop reading the 20th Century mythology like the ANV flags descending from Scotland's flags (pure crap and not a shred of evidence from 1861 to support it); or the War Department approved these flags (more crap - no such order has ever been found) or that even Nicola Marschall or Orren Smith designed the First National (last bit of crap - William Porcher Miles, head of the flag committee stated on March 4th, 1861 that no other designs were suitable so the committee designed the flag), the claims for both men not coming until well after the war (and around the time that the Betsy Ross claims started up by her grandson).

That was fun to do and I did it at the request of the National SCV headquarters.
