Re: Fights at Cotton Creek and Escambia River

Hi Dale:

It has been a long time since we talked about the 1st Florida Cavalry, Union Volunteers last. I just finished re-reading the 2nd Maine booklet as part of my research on the 1st FL Cavalry, UV. It is mostly re-prints of the Official Records reports that A. B. Spurling was involved or mentioned in. Lucas' push appears to have been intended to be a distraction for the Confederates so Spurling could march around Pollard and come at Evergreen from the east and Pollard from the north.

By the way, I bought and read your book on the Battle of Marianna. I enjoyed it very much. It had come a long way since your first narratives on the Internet.
