Re: Barton's Brigade at Vicksburg

The General Barton & Stovall History/Heritage Association concluded its annual meeting over the past weekend at a location associated with the Georgia Brigade-this year it was Morristown, Tennessee and the Knoxville, Tazewell, Cumberland Gap area. The Georgia 40th, 41st, 42nd, 43rd, and 52nd infantry regiments along with other units did a passel of marching and covering the various mountain gaps in Northeast Tennessee in 1862 in pursuit of the Yankee. This is VERY good organization, Gary Goodson is a fine fellow. I do advise anyone with ancestors in the Georgia Brigade or interested in the history thereof to join the organization. Next year the meeting will be in Vicksburg.
