I'm pleased that you were able to use the link about wartime Richmond. Here's a detailed description of what happened at Fussell's Mill:

Led by Victor Jean Baptiste Girardey, Wright's old brigade was attacked and overrun by the initial Federal attack. Girardey had been promoted just a couple of days earlier and lost his life attempting to rally his men.

The picture shown below depicts two Alabama regiments at Fussell's Mill. Their counterattack sealed the breach in the Confederate line.
