Thanks again for the info. Although my initial research was on William H Howell, I am interested in finding what happened to his younger brother also. I dont know where he would have reenlisted when he did turn 18 yrs of age. Or where he was after the war. William Howell ended up in Gwinnett County, where my husband is from.

The S.A.Howell you noted could be Stephen Howell, and I will pursue that. Also, I have read on this site about the flag of the 19th Co B. It sounds as if most of these men were Irish and had a flag reflecting this. Is there a link where I could see this flag or replica of it (I have read it had a harp and shamrock on it).
