I don't have a lot of documented info on my Maxwell ancestors, and just like most first time "Civil War" researchers, I found my dead ends. There is no known burial place. There is no exact cause of death. On Joseph Maxwells military records it states "typhoid pneumonia" and that he died in a "hospital/church?" His brother was very easy to locate. John Maxwell is buried in Elmira, Newyork.
I would welcome any info you send me. I have never personaly met a Maxwell. My Grandmother had passed before I was born. Her father, Asa, was Joseph's son. Asa Maxwell lived and died, in Twiggs county.(1858-1899 approx.) If the court house hadn't burned in Jeffersonville, maybe I'd be a much happier camper.
What you have written in your response is true to the best of my knowledge. I tried to e-mail you at JackPoynter@att.net, but it came back.
Thanks,
Ann
