This is a request that George Martin should be able to handle. I am Camp Adjutant of Old Capitol Camp No. 688 of Sons of Confederate Veterans in Milledgeville, Georgia. We are presenting a reenactment of the funeral of General George Doles, who is buried in Memory Hill Cemetery in Milledgeville. We need to get a reproduction of the (battle torn) 4th Georgia battle flag that stood at the head of the coffin, as well as a reproduction of the flag of the Baldwin Blues that lay upon the coffin. Do you know where we might get pictures of these flags for use by a flagmaker? We would also appreciate any other input you might provide to help us make this presentation as authentic as possible.
We have a coffin that will be placed in the Old Capitol on the campus of Georgia Military College. We have engaged a period horse drawn period hearse to transport the coffin from the Capitol to Memory Hill Cemetery. We hope to have a multitude of reenactors in the funeral procession. We are amateurs at this and we are wide open for suggestions and advice.
Thank You
