Alan, the site you gave lists the Harper's Ferry as a "rifle" of .69 caliber. The ammunition page lists the .69 caliber projectile as a round ball, fired in older smoothbore muskets. So, was the harper's Ferry a rifle or musket? And, when these Georgia state troops were transferred to Richmond and the ANV, would they have taken the state arms with them, or been rearmed by the ANV? Knowing Joe Brown's predilection for keeping men and supplies under his control, this seems likely. Stan
