Re: General Hospital #1, Savannah, Ga.
I'm researching the death and burial of Pvt. Charles S. Blake of Co. A 29th Ohio Volunteer Infantry who was mustered out of the Union Army at the Savannah Hospital on Dec 31, 1864, and died at that time or shortly after since his widow applied for pension benefits in Feb 1865. I find no burial record for him in his home county of Athens, Ohio, and suspect he may have been buried in Savannah. Having read the posts about CSA soldier burials, I wondered if there is a designated cemetery for Union soldiers? Thanks for any help you can provide.
