Mr. Ezzard,

I am glad to be of assistance. I was able to get to this level of detail with you are a result of the research that I have done over the past decade and the work I did for my master's thesis. All this has been in preparation for three books on the 39th Georgia which will have additional information on all the regiments in Cumming's Brigade and holistically Stevenson's Division.

The compiled service record (CSR) is the record that the National Archives has and is available through a service offered by this message board, the National Archives and if you live in the north Georgia you can obtain it at the National Archives annex in Atlanta or the Chattanooga Public Library. His CSR has about seven extracts or cards in the record. You have seen some of the information in the exchanges and also in the Henderson Rosters you found.

A brief note on the railroads. The Charlotte & South Carolina Railroad from Augusta, Georgia to Chester, South Carolina was destroyed and the aforementioned portion of railroad between Milledgeville and Mayfield, Georgia was destroyed. In addition the Western & Atlantic Railroad north of Atlanta was destroyed and relief supplies had to be moved into north Georgia was moved by wagon train. [Source: The Railroads of the Confederacy. Robert C. Black, III.]

I hope this helps.

Respectfully,
