Thank you for your reply. Your information is consistent with what the widow of my ancestor (also in Co. A) indicated as his surrender point in her widow's pension application. I suspect that their unit was formally surrendered as part of a larger command in Augusta and that the individual soldiers, on returning home must have been required to be paroled by local Union commands such as in Thomasville, GA .
