My gr.great grandfather and your family were in Savannah at the same time. He retreated south to the fort in Sanbury just south of savannah. He then was at the Battle of ocean pond/olustee Fla.and then was guarding Monticello Fla. He surrendered at Tallahassee. He was last known trying to get a pension in 1895. He originally was with the 1st for 6 months then transferred out. He inlisted in Lumpkin,Ga,he was in Early county Ga in 1850 and then in Miller county in 1860.(colquitt) I am trying to find out where he is buried. Bainbridge library can't help me they have nothing. So my journey continues.I live in Marion County,Fla.Have been to your ancestors are many time.sheila
