Re: Georgia CSA Soldiers Records Search

Yet another coincidence...

My GG Grandfather Thomas L. Morgan was at the Battle of Ocean Pond/Olustee, who served in the 10th Florida Infantry Regiment. He was wounded and his pension application states that his wounds at Olustee contributed to his early death. Also, my GG Uncle Augustus Bell of the 10th Florida Regiment Company F was also at the Battle of Ocean Pond.

My wife's family lived in Early and Miller County GA...PLATT

My BELL relatives alos live for a while in Decatur County GA.

My BARRS lived in Lowndes/Brooks County GA.

MY GGG Grandfather Duncan Bell fought in the Seminole Indian Wars
My GG Grandfather John Ashley Boyett Brooks County GA fought in the Seminole Indian Wars and was at Fort McAllister with his son Edward J. and GG Grandfather James C. Boyette on DEC 13, 1865 when it was overrun by Shermans troops trying to take Savannah.

John Ashley Boyett died in the CSA Jackson Hospital in Richmong after being parolled from Point Lookout Union Prison Camp MD on MAR 1, 1865. He was buried in the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond where his two oldest sons had been buried in 1863 after wounds and Typhoid fever.

I have a long line of relatives from the American Revolution to Desert Storm who fought for our freedom and often gave all. There's more but I will stop here. Have a good trip!
