I have seen information that surgeons set these fractures using a "double inclined plane."

The citation at the bottom of the medical card you note is undoubtedly that of the source document from which the information on the card was taken. In this case, I believe it would be Confederate Archives, Chapter 6, File #215, Page 314.

Remember, this is a register of those in hospital on the date shown. Only the briefest of information was given. I doubt very much that individual detailed patient hospital records, if ever maintained, survived to be incorporated in the CSRs.

I am under the impression, that every and all document which could be identified to any one soldier, was recorded in these records.

I doubt very much, you will find any further information as to his medical history.

You might be interested to know that there was also a Pvt. Charles O. Goodwyne in Co. B, who was also wounded on May 6, furloughed for 60 days from June 22, and still at home wounded on the Jan/Feb 1865 muster roll. No hospitial register documents are found in his records.
