Thank you ever so much for the information on John McGee and the extensive history of the 19th Georgia! very neat stuff!!
I understand that the uniform worn by company "B" was composed of a dark green uniform with gold trim, large dark hat with a plume. the flag was green with Erin's harp and a shamrock with Company B "Jackson Guards" and the other side had the motto "Our Cause is Just". The Captain John Keely, took out an ad in the Atlanta Consitution in 1884, telling the remainder of the company to visit the home of the late Lieut. John McGee. I read that 11 out of 85 men of the company survived the war. John's brother James McGee rescued Colonel W.W. Boyd during an engagement in the Shenandoah.
