Gerald, some several years ago, I had corresponded with you about two of my ancestors, Andrew Chaphel McAfee, Co H, 36th Georgia and Jesse R. McAfee, surgeon for the 36th. Neither was shown in the parole records from Vicksburg. Jesse appeared to have been at Vicksburg as his confirmation as regimental surgeon, with back pay, was sent to Vicksburg in April, 1863. No record of Andrew during this time period. My question is, has any new material come forth in the last couple of years about any of the 36th soldiers at the Battle of Bakers Creek or the Seige of Vicksburg?
