Glenn, Those who do believe it occurred in Payne County place it at the location of Twin Mounds which are on the northwest corner of Hwy 51 and Hwy 18 -- just west of Yale OK.

Personally, I'm of the "Keystone Area" school and find the Payne County location highly unlikely. But as Ralph will tell you, there are those much more scholarly than I am that believe strongly in the Twin Mounds site.
