Re: Cherokee "Pins (" Kee-too-wha ?)

Yes. The term "Pins" or "Pin Indians" was specifically applied to the 3rd IHG. I believe I have read of Drew's Regiment then the 3rd IHG being referred to as the "Pin Regiment". To be precise, a "Pin" was a "full blood" Cherokee who was a member of the Keetoowah Society and identified themselves by a pin or crossed pins on their lapels. Whether or not your ancestors where technically members of the Keetoowah Society, they would still have been called Pins.

What are your ancestors names? What can you tell us about them?
