In addition to the Official Records, a map depicting all of BG Jo Shelby’s marches during the Civil War clearly shows Shelby’s, and thus Price’s retreat of November 1864 through Indian Territory (IT), to have entered IT at Evansville, Arkansas. This map may be seen in the 1867 book (Shelby and His Men, or the War in the West) written by John Newman Edwards at:
