Re: whipperville creek or bridge in dec

Regrettably, I have no knowledge of the incident or person to whom you refer. There were several bridges burned and destroyed in the Southern Kentucky Area. One more prominent bridge destroyed in the Hart County Area in 1861 was the Green River Bridge at Munfordville/Rowletts Station.

Wish I could be more help in your search.

The subject of this thread is Whippoorwill Creek Bridge and I feel that I should point out that it too was burned. The night of the battle (Dec 1). It was rebuilt and burned again in February of 1862 as the Confederates retreated out of Kentucky. Whippoorwill Creek Bridge was situated in Southern Logan County so it is not relevent to your Ohio County ancestor, however.
