Happy St. Paddy's Day--Do you know if the diary mentions anything about a fella name William Jasper Burd or the Home Guards from around Horse Cave? He was my Gr-Grandfather and is said to have been the the Union Home Guards but was a "spy" for the south. He helped derail a train and is listed in one history book but NO WHERE else. When Mr. Cann of the Filson Club was alive he told me in a letter that this event NEVER happened. I have searched for 40 years to find something about him. Please let me know if there happens to be anything in the diary about this incident. Thank you. Loretta Warren
