Re: "4th Kentucky Infantry Regiment (Union)

My grandfather, Benjamin Talbott Asbury (Asberry), was a member of K Company throughout the entire existence of the 4th Kentucky Infantry. I have his discharge given at Macon, Georgia, the seventeenth day of August, 1865. It is signed by Colonel Robert Kelly, Regimental Commander, formerly Company Commander of Company K, and Alfred S. Stewart, Captain Company K. My grandmother, Malinda Galbraith, was Asbury's second wife who he married in 1901. They had but one child, Adalene, my mother. I am very interested in the details of how Company K was raised.
