You have been so nice, I hate to tell you this. As I stated earlier, my Bayne family
was in Kentucky. I am not so interested in the importance of the man as his circumstances.
1869 was the first time one of my Bayne connetions reached Arkansas.
They were in Kentucky for many years, like probably 30 years leaving kin behind.
Walter D. Bayne was born in Virginia as I said in Nov. of 1812. I got the date of
birth from his gravestone at the cemetery which is about one mile from my house.
Walter was raised in Kentucky and he lived there until at least 1840+ as he married in
Shelby County, Tenn. in Sept. of 1843.
When the Civil War started, my ancestor headed back to Kentucky with his family around
about 1862 leaving Shelby County behind. I assume because it was too dangerous.
I base that departure time on the fact that my great grandfather was born in Dec. of 1861
in Shelby County prior to them leaving. He was their last born child.
I got my information from Goodspeeds which is pretty correct as it is provided by the people
themselves as well as some research on my part including death certificates.
Thanks for trying to help. But where I need to be is in Kentucky.
