Re: Skirmish Oct.4, 1862, Bardstown KY

here you go i found what you were looking for June 17, 1864 Col George M Jesse CSA with 150 mounted known as Jesse's Riflemen, camped between Bloomfield Ky and and Bardstown Ky and was thought to of been with Morgan at Cynthiana Ky Five or so men of his camp went to the home of John R Jones near Bloomfield and they demanded a horse, saddle and bridle from him. He refused and shot one of the soldiers and they opened up on him and killed Mr Jones. (later some men were shot near this spot by the Union (burbridge orders) in retaliation for the murder of Mr Jones.) On June 18, 1864 two union groups set out to capture Jesse, but Lt. Driskell surrendered his group without a fight. His surrender was much to the dismay of Major Smith of the 9th Michigan, who arrived to late to assist him.
Hope this answers your questions on what happened and where Joe Masterson www.civil-war-museum.org
