It sounds that the hospitol was built by the state. Were there any Federal founds appropiated for Confederate States soldiers Home system ?Did the state of LA. pay for the care of her soldiers.My Kin spent time in a Soldiers Home up north(western IL.) that declared him incompetent.The papers say he was spending his Pension money foolishly.I find it hard to believe because the location was not close to anything.He did have a head wound and an alcohol problem.To much for the Family.I felt the home did it so his pension went straight to the home as if he was responsible for the bill....Were Disabled-Veterans responsible for their bill?
