No, I'm not sure of that date of birth. If I recall correctly it was provided by a descendant. I need to look at census records. Thanks for the info on the ranks! My several greats uncle served in those positions, but I'd never been able to determine his military rank. He resigned before the end of the war to be a Surgeon General for the State of Miss.

As to your other reply, regarding your source...I thought that book was *my* source of information! I must have found that info somewhere else. I should have the source of my info in my notes somewhere.
