Hi, I have been doing some simple research on Wheat's Battalion and its men, and have been in contact with a couple of people that have done some extensive research on the unit.
I have found (and been informed) that many of the men that were able to re-enlist in the Army after the unit was disbanded put down on their Federal alligence papers, even 3 years later, that they were members of Wheat's Battalion, even tho they were in a different unit (s) in the interim.
I believe Alexander White (Co B Commander) also included Wheat's Battalion as his primary military afflication during the War
