I was in OK City,OK in 1989 and while touring the State museum, there was a Battle flag hanging on a wall. The tour guide said it was donated to the museum many years ago by a veteran that claimed he was at the Rio Grande and this was the flag.

My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think it had 14 stars and the veteran was originally from Johnson co. Mo..
