Linda--Thanks for your imput. Unfortunately, his obit does not mention his military service. The only known record for him, and for Thos. Inman, is their attendance at a Confederate reunion in Sedalia. This record appears with the Secy of State's Office. Smith, Inman, my ggrandfather W.R.Kay, and several other family relations all joined Cpt. Hornbeck's company at the same time. Some generated service or surrender records while others did not.
