Good points about the jayhawkers. I was not thinking of the New Englanders emigrants has jayhawkers per se but more has armed partcipants in the bleeding Kansas conflict and later has soldiers in the 7th Kan who may not steal just for monetary gain but will destroy property of "Secsesh" Missiorians out of revenge and knowing the likelyhood of military discipline is minute. has Kansas was a brand new state most White and Afro-American residents were from somewhere else. BTW no one has answered the question were some Kan USVs better dsiciplined then the 7th Kan in that they more or less followed US Army policies regarding non combatants?
