Kansas Mortaility Rate

I'm not sure I ever reported back to the board on that issue. I wrote a letter to the Kansas State Historical Society pointing out the apparent error, and to their credit, they changed the write-up on thier web site to remove the "highest mortallity rate" statement. That was one deeply embedded bit of trivia, included in documents ranging from Robinson's The Kansas Conflict to the Kansas Secretary of State web site (still there last time I checked). I stull find it a bit hard to believe that the error had gone undetected (more likely uncorrected) for 140 years.
