Bruce, I don't see David Conelison's name in the roster of Company B of the Gallant Breed book of the 'Southwest' Mo. regiment. However, we don't have the original enrollment sheet of the regiment when it was organized at Newtonia in September 1862. The Militia designation bothers me also. I looked through my roster of the 6th MSM (U) which operated in the area but don't see him there also. There is the 6th PEMM which was part of that area but I have not seen the rosters of that regiment to date. The manner in which he was killed at his home seems consistent with what was going on at the time. Curious situation.
