Thank you for your efforts. I was just in St. Joseph and understand efforts are being made to restore Prospect Hill (site of Fort Smith and other encampments). Perhaps as excavations occur, more will be discovered. I do think Loyd was buried, quickly because of the nature of his illness, at the camp cemetery. I will try to continue to confirm if he was re-intered at Fort Leavenworth. Thank you.
