Re: re-interrment of soldiers
In Response To: re-interrment of soldiers ()

Hi, Pat,
The records of burials at Mt. Mora Cemetery in St. Joseph are available on-line. I checked both spellings, and no match at Mt. Mora. Other possibilities exist in St. Joseph, and I know there was a Civil War era cemetery in the southern part of town that is no longer in existance...although there may still be unmarked graves there. Seems that several years ago some remains were disturbed during an excavation. There are St. Joseph natives that know more about this than I do. I'm not sure when Ashland or Mt. Olivet cemeteries were founded. Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you...I live close to St. Joe and have a few contacts there in town who might be able to help find him if he's buried in one of the established cemeteries there.
Regards,
Maggie
