Hi Deborah,
You're right about the Paces. I have double connection with Thomas Pace children in my Thomas line. My gr-grandfather married Nancy Pace, his nephew Thomas Callahan Thomas married a daughter of her sister Abigail. Tracking Abigail is tough, she married at least three times, changing names of course. Also two of Thomas Paces' sons, James and Samuel, were members of the Paw Paw Militia, probably with southern persuasions. There was a flier issued in Platte County in 1864 advising them and any other low down bunch to vacate the county before sundown or pay the price. James must not have listened, he is buried in near Owasso in today's Oklahoma. He moved into lawless Vernon County at the end of the war, then down into Oklahoma Indian Territory with several brothers and families.
