There is a collection at the Purdue library of Missouri Civil War milita papers. I don't know exactly what is there, and I wonder if one of their graduates back in the past bequeathed this unusual paper collection to the school. It has been on my mind for a few years to attempt to research this matter, but never got around to it. Perhaps this distant collection may shed some light on some of Missouri's long-lasting CW militia mysteries. If one of you finds out, please let me know, as I may have use of some of it for a future project.
