The strange thing about my grandson is that his dads family ties to the Benson's family goes back to Massachusetts in the 1600's. His mother, whose maiden name is Benson, traces her family back to the same town and county is Mass. Andrew, my grandson, even at 12 yrs of age has many contacts throughout the U.S. with info on Civil War maters.. I really suggest you contact his web site. He is not a typical 12 yr old. His Uncle did great work on the family tree. They have recently gained new info on the Bacon and Benson lines in the tree. You may or may not find anything new but will have contact with new extented family members and I know Andrew would like to have a copy of the oath John Benson signed.
