Re: Lieut. R. L. Wood, of Bledsoe's Battery

I have been monitoring this string and finally I my curiosity got the better of me. I am assuming you are discussing Hiram's Bledsoe's Battery which operated on both sides of the river, beginning in the MSG then following Price east where it remained for the balance of the war. There was a 2nd Missouri Battery under Joe Bledsoe, later commanded by Collins. A great many of the men in that battery were transferred from Shelby's Brigade. I have the rosters for all of Shelby's Brigade and found several men with last Name Wood, but none of these could be your man. I can only conclude that you are talking about Hiram's battery for which I do not have its roster. I would think following Hiram's battery may provide some answers you are looking for. There are strength returns for that outfit in existence and they would show the offers named.
