That's interesting, and it tends to show why those Company E men wanted to get Trollinger so badly.

I've read about Ben Talbot, but I seem to recall that was in 1861 or maybe 1862.

I obtained the "Strickland" name from Jack Mayes' article, but I could find no such name in the 50th Missouri Infantry.

I did find one "Adams," Private Mathew Adams, but he was in Company I, although he enlisted at Ironton in Iron County. However, you said "two members of the Adams clan were in the group that killed Trollinger and Barton," so perhaps they were members of the Adams clan but were related by marriage and did not carry the "Adams" name.
