Bruce the name of Morris Adams comes out of family lore recorded by Jube Barton in the pamphlet Bellevue, Beautiful View, Bellevue Valley, MO. History, 1763-1981. Kent Library here in Cape has a copy. I'll try to peruse it for you if you're interested. That story also reports the beheading.

In looking at his CSR on Fold3 it appears he mustered in at Pilot Knob. He was listed as 19 years old, gray eyes, dark hair, fair complexion, born St Francis Co MO, occupation of farmer.
