Thanks, that really fills a void. It is interesting that after Lone Jack and the reorganization that followed back in Ark, Tracy was commissioned in Nov. of '62, do we know by whom? His resigning in March of '63, followed by marriage in Virginia over a year later makes sense of the stories that he had sought some sort of redress via the Davis administration.

For some reason he isn't showing up in the 1860 Census in Johnson County per http://files.usgwarchives.net/mo/johnson/census/1860cens.txt I'm not sure how complete the text is. He may have slipped through the cracks or been elsewhere at the time of the census.
