Re: hey George, or anyone who knows

That is very nice. If you have some more projects going, just put mine on hold. I have waited all these years, and a while longer is not long.
I was really interested in a man named Soloman Moore out of what became White County, Arkansas. He was with the 36th Arkansas CSA. He was married to a Price, so he was my great grandmother's uncle. He was captured at Helena. There is no way the family would have left him behind if they could have gotten to him. I did not know any of those people but I know my family.
By chance is there a listing for Lt. Fielding Price of the 1st Arkansas Cav. who died at Little Rock on Feb. 1, 1865. I believe he was first buried at Mt. Holly and then later he became an unknown when they dug up all of the Confederate dead and moved them to a national cemetery just outside of where all the Union dead were buried. I have been told that when they were in the process of moving the bodies, that many of the men were known, but the caskets had the names written on with chalk and a big rain came and washed the names off. The Price family wanted to claim his body when he died, but because he had died of smallpox, his wife Polly Price could not claim him. There is a big long story that goes with this, but I will pass at this time.
